Therapies in Sarajevo

For a period of six weeks, a mobile therapeutic unit was organised in the premises of the RDC's office in Grbavica. Starting from January 21 2008, The Women's Support Programme has been offering complementary treatments to women of Sarajevo. WSP therapist Adela Dilber (physiotherapist) and Alina Anker (naturopath) supported by massage therapist Gabriele Ruys and Gestalt therapist Amila Ferusic have been treating a group of 24 women on a weekly basis. Together with individual treatments, clients were invited to participate in community days and group therapies.

Seminar: Complementary Therapies in Addressing Post-war Trauma Sarajevo, 25-27 January 2008

The first seminar organized for female health professionals who are dedicated to help Bosnian women suffering from war trauma will be held from 25 to 27th of January at the RDC's Library and Club in Sarajevo.
25 local complementary therapists, doctors and social workers will attend a teaching programme aimed at improving their skills in addressing war trauma. Lectures and workshops will be led by both local and international health professionals.

Visit and volunteer work of Gabriele Ruys

Ms. Gabriele Ruys, a German-based body therapist will be visiting the Women's Support Programme in January 2008.

Donation of Carla Del Ponte

In September 2007 Ms. Carla del Ponte, former Chief Prosecutor of the ICTY made a generous donation to the Women's Support Programme. Ms. Del Ponte decided to assign 20 000 Euros, which she received as a peace award from the European federation of Soroptimist International to help Bosnian female victims of war.

Therapies in Gorazde - November 2007

In November 2007, for the second time our therapists will run healing programme at RDC’s regional office in Goražde. It will include treating some of the women who took part in the Pilot Project realized in March 2007 and a new group of clients. All the women, who took part in the Pilot Project are very much welcome to join the Community Days (Fridays) .

A month long healing programme for women from Srebrenica is planned to be implemented in December 2007. More information will be posted soon.

Meeting at the Library and Club

On October 17th, at the RDC’s Library and Club there was a meeting held with Ms Vesna Jovanović of Amica Prijatelice from Srebrenica. The discussion gave a good base for a co-operation between RDC and Amica when it comes to implementation of the Women’s Support Programme in Srebrenica in December 2007 .
