VISIT OF COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVES FROM NORTHERN IRELAND

During a study visit to Sarajevo , fifteen community members from Northern Ireland who are involved in the process of capacity building with the aim to support peaceful and stable societies, visited the RDC and met with RDC representatives.
The purpose of the study visit was to introduce the representatives to activities which take community-level action with the aim of building peace in the region. Examples of such actions include meeting with groups and organizations which are active in the process of peace-building and in the building of good relations between communities.
The esteemed guests had the opportunity to hear about how the RDC, as an NGO, contributes to the preservation of war memories and how it contributes to the process of facing the past. Mr. Safer Hukara, director and co-founder of the RDC , talked about the establishment and development of the 'Human Losses in Bosnia-Herzegovina 1991-1995' database. Project managers Jagoda Gregulska and Eldar Jahic talked about other RDC projects, such as 'Conflict Prevention Capacity Building', the 'Women's Support Program', 'War Crimes Trial Monitoring', and other RDC projects.
