LECTURE IN LONDON ABOUT THE PROCES OF 'FACING THE PAST' - THE ROLE OF THE FACTS
Sarajevo, 21 November 2007.
Within the seminar 'Facing the past – The role of the facts', which was organized in London by the Oxford Research Group, Mr Tokaca, president of the RDC, held lectures on the 23 and 24th of October at the Royal Holloway Faculty, University of London and the Centre for global and trans-national policy.
Mr Tokaca spoke about the results of the analysis that was made by the Research and Documentation Centre and the methodology that was used for the project ‘Human Losses in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1992 till 1995’.
During the lecture, Mr Tokaca argued that the process of dealing with the past must be impartial and that it calls for comprehensive research; collecting data and different documents that can subsequently be analysed and stored in data bases and archives. Only in that manner we can contribute to dissolving myths, prejudice and stereotypes about the past and its protagonists, which enables us to work on a sustainable peace in post-conflict societies
